ECONOMICS AND MANAGEMENT
The economy is undergoing a paradigm shift, which calls for new ideas and practices. Such ideas and practices should also inform the study of economics, which is in itself undergoing a crisis, in that it is no longer able to explain and respond to people’s problems. Therefore, it is important to gain appropriate knowledge in order to correctly interpret present-day reality and to provide adequate responses.

POLITICAL SCIENCES
The complexity of contemporary politics is such that traditional political studies approaches can no longer explain it or fully grasp the intricate relations that characterise it. Every single political event happens at the crossroads between two dimensions, which makes it difficult for the observer to understand it and respond to it. Those dimensions are:
a) the vertical dimension, which includes the relations between the local, national, international and global levels;
b) the horizontal dimension, i.e. the relations between social, political and institutional actors.
