Il corso intende introdurre all’analisi delle immagini e al loro ruolo comunicativo attraverso un percorso suddiviso in due parti. La prima parte sarà focalizzata sulla cultura visuale, prendendo in considerazione i testi e le idee di una serie di autori attivi negli anni ’20 e ‘30 (Béla Balázs, Walter Benjamin) e di altri autori contemporanei che hanno contribuito all’affermazione di campi di ricerca come i visual culture studies (Mitchell, Baxandall, Belting, Bredekamp, Didi-Huberman, Freedberg). La seconda parte sarà un approfondimento circa la questione delle implicazioni estetiche e comunicative in relazione alla mediazione interculturale e interreligiosa.
