Presentation
The Licentiate in Philosophy, Economy of Communion, and the Environment is a Master’s Degree programme that trains professionals capable of understanding and guiding complex economic, social, and organizational processes. The program integrates philosophy, economics, and sustainability, developing advanced skills in analysis, planning, and leadership. The goal is to prepare professionals capable of translating visions and values into concrete decisions, operating responsibly and transformatively in contemporary contexts. Philosophy is the cornerstone of the program: not as isolated theoretical knowledge, but as a critical tool for interpreting economic models, assessing their ethical implications, and contributing to their evolution. A distinctive element is the focus on the Economy of Communion
and civil economy, making this programme unique in the academic landscape and strongly oriented toward issues of sustainability and the common good. Teaching activities take place at the international campus of Loppiano, in a context that integrates study, academic life, and direct interaction with faculty. Thanks to a partnership with the University of Perugia, the programme offers a double academic degree, both ecclesiastical and state, recognized nationally and internationally.

Registration Information
- Requirements: Bachelor’s Degree in related fields of study. Italian language proficiency level B1 for non-native speakers
- Annual fee: €2,500 to be paid in two equal installments at the beginning of the semesters (November 1st and May 31st)
- Enrolment deadline: 31 October 2026 for non-EU studente; 18 December 2026 EU students
- Double degree obtained: The Sophia University Institute is an academic institution erected by the Dicastery for
Culture and Education of the Catholic Church which confers the Licentiate in Philosophy, Economics of Communion, and the Environment. Through a partnership with the University of Perugia, students can obtain a double academic degree, namely the state-recognized academic title in addition to the ecclesiastical one: the Licentiate (Master’s Degree) in Philosophy, Economy of Communion, and the Environment (Class LM-78 in the Italian university system)
