The International Center for Transdisciplinary Studies is Established: Agreement
Between Sophia and ASCES-UNITA

The Sophia University Institute announces the signing of a Framework Agreement with the Centro Universitário Tabosa de Almeida – ASCES-UNITA for the establishment of the International Center for Transdisciplinary Studies (ICTS), signed today, 24 March 2026.

The agreement was signed by the Rector of Sophia, Prof. Declan O’Byrne, and the Rector of ASCES-UNITA, Prof. Paulo Muniz Lopes, marking the culmination of an academic collaboration initiated in 2008 and progressively strengthened over time.

The Agreement formalizes the creation of an inter-university center dedicated to research, advanced training, and international cooperation.

The signing of the Agreement represents a significant step in strengthening Sophia’s international dimension and in consolidating research networks oriented toward scientific innovation and interdisciplinary dialogue.
