Annual tuition fees for enrolment at the Sophia University Institute: € 2.500, payable in two equal instalmente:
- 1st instalment: € 1.250 by January 11th
- 2nd instalment: € 1.250 by May 31st
Academic fees
Enrolment in the Bachelor’s Degree
The annual tuition fee for enrolment in the Bachelor’s Degree of Philosophy and Human Sciences is €2,500, payable according to the procedures outlined above.
Enrolment in the Licentiate (Master’s) Degree
The annual tuition fee for enrolment in the Licentiate (Master’s) Degree in Philosophy, Economy of Communion and Environment is €2,500, payable according to the procedures outlined above.
Doctoral School Tuition
For those enrolled from the a.y. 2025/2026: € 3,000 per year (for three years) in two instalments, to be paid according to the calendar schedule
(€ 1,500 per year after the third year of enrolment)
Tuition for One-Year Programme
€ 2,500 (in two instalments, to be paid according to the calendar schedule)
Other costs of living
Sophia offers the opportunity to live in campus residences with students from all over the world at the monthly cost of € 230 (shared room) or € 260 (single room)*. Students are responsible for their own living expenses.
Personal and food expenses are managed directly by the student, with estimated costs of about € 500 the first month (considering initial costs for residence permit and medical insurance) and then € 200 per month (e.g. transportation, study materials, books, photocopies, handouts).

* Notes about monthly payments for housing in campus residences
During the first month of the housing period, three installments will be requested: two of which will be as a “deposit,” which will be returned only upon checkout at the end of the A.Y. or when the request itself expires.
Payment for housing must be made by the 5th of each month (for that month). In the event of non-payment, the following penalties will be applied
within the first month of delay + 5% of the amount due
within the second month of delay +10% of the amount due
within the third month of delay +15% of the amount due.
Failure to pay from the fourth month after the due date will result in automatic forfeiture of the place, but will not exempt from paying the fees for the entire academic year.
