Jesus Christ and Theosis: a systematic perspective

LM-OT – Specialization in Theology
Course held in Italian
“In reality, only in the mystery of the Incarnate Word does the mystery of man find true light.” (Gaudium et spes 22). Christian “salvation” is expressed in many ways, but in a privileged way with the vocabulary of deification (theosis). Recent studies on the so-called “Christological” debate have once again highlighted this theme as a key to interpreting the dogma itself. This course intends to offer a historical and systematic reflection on Theosis as the link between the doctrine of Christ and man, and invites reflection on the “culture of unity” in the light of the theme of human deification.
