Save the date – Interdisciplinary conference ‘The agape movement’ – 6, 7, 8 June 2024
The interdisciplinary conference organised by the Department of Theology, Philosophy and Human Sciences of the Sophia University Institute in collaboration with Loppiano, the International Citadel of the Focolare Movement, will be held from 6 to 9 June.
The international conference entitled The agape movement: key to socio-cultural renewal proposes to explore agape, starting from its philosophical-theological expression, in order to trace that dynamism that knows how to bring people and knowledge into dialogue. Today, more than ever, there is an urgent need to rethink reality through a reflection innervated by vital experience, and the category of agape may constitute a key to socio-cultural renewal that is still little explored.
The conference consists of two parts:
An academic session aimed mainly at scholars already involved in reflections on the theme or interested in its recomprehension through a dialogic and interdisciplinary methodology that makes one experience and reinterpret, in the light of today’s pressing issues, the contents and the relational form of thinking that can arise from the love of/in God. This session will be held in the Aula Magna of the Sophia University Institute in Via San Vito n. 28, Loppiano.
Public session open to all those who wish to deepen the theme in its psycho-pedagogical, social, cultural, artistic and active citizenship implications through reflections and practical workshops offering methods and application tools. This session will be held at the Citadel Auditorium in Via San Vito no. 48, Loppiano.
All plenary sessions of the event will be held in Italian and English, with simultaneous translation. Participation will be presential and online.
